The Daily Laws by Robert Greene

Daily Law: Think back on the moments when you felt deeply and personally connected to an activity. Think about the pleasure it brought you. In such activities are signs of your true purpose.

Senior year of high school I lived a secret life that I never told anyone about. During the bright hours I was a student athlete, but by night I was a talented but undiscovered soundcloud rapper. I guess my brothers knew but that's about it. Writing songs was how I spent my nights after school and it was when I was the hardest on myself, finally trying to become perfect at something. I probably had written about 50 songs by the end of the first semester. Senior year was also when I had built stronger bonds with a few people from school so they added me to their group chat to stay in touch over winter break. I had no clue that would lead to the exposure of my passion for music. One day over the break I decided to send them one of my songs as a "Yoo look what I just made" joke. Man I've never seen more wtf's in my life. That lead to me actually putting the song on Youtube a few weeks later for more people to hear it. That was the very beginning stage of Spade. That continued through college where I actually ended up performing another song I released with a couple of the guys. I dropped out to make money for beats and pitch in on studio equipment, but it was hard to follow through with that plan after moving 3 hours away. So a few years passed and now I'm here using this daily journal to help follow through on this commitment.
